Agent Q&A Hub
Is there a training program available for new agents?
Yes, we offer training programs for brand new agents and can walk you through the process of getting set up and building your book of business.
How long does it take to get contracted and begin selling?
The contracting process varies depending on whether you are a brand new agent or an experienced agent with existing appointments that need to be transferred.
-
New Agents: Typically, the process takes a couple of weeks from start to finish, depending on the selected carriers. This includes the time needed for carriers to process your request and conduct a background check. Contracts requiring training or certifications will take longer than those that do not.
-
Transferring Existing Contracts: If you are already contracted with a carrier and need to transfer your appointment, this process can take anywhere from a few weeks to a couple of months, depending on the carrier and the type of transfer.
If you have questions about specific carriers, please reach out to our team.
What licenses do I need to work independently with O'Neill Marketing?
To sell ACA products, which is our specialty, you need to be FFM certified. Additionally, if you plan to sell products in state-based exchange states, you must obtain their specific certifications to sell policies.
Who maintains ownership of my book of business while I am affiliated with O’Neill Marketing?
While affiliated with O’Neill Marketing, you retain 100% ownership of the business you write. Our role is to support you as an agent, and we will never pursue business with your clients for any reason.

Can I recruit agents within my direct down-line?
Absolutely! We encourage our agents to expand both their books of business and their teams. We offer a competitive commission structure that enables you to bring on downline agents who will be part of your hierarchy.
How are commissions processed and when are they paid?
Each carrier follows its own commission payment schedule. Carriers pay us directly, and we then distribute payments to our agents. While the timing of commission payments varies by carrier, our commission team works diligently to ensure you receive your payments promptly for the business you write. You can find the payout schedule on our O’Neill Marketing Agent Portal.
