Why do I want to sell ACA?

Three huge reasons:
1. ACA accepts pre-existing conditions. This means clients with diabetes, cancer, history of heart attack and strokes, and pregnancy are eligible for an ACA plan. You no longer have to turn this clientele away.
2. The government offers subsidies which lower premiums. Plans can be as low as $0 a month. You are basically selling a free product to people. It’s also possible to get Cost Sharing Reduction, which can lower deductibles to $0 and lower out-of-pocket maximums to around 2k per individual.
3. With thousands of health plans to choose from, you’ll be able to find a plan that perfectly fits the client’s needs and budget.

Who is ACA for?

ACA is great for:
• People that aren’t offered insurance through their employer.
• People that are self employed.
• People with preexisting conditions.
• Pregnant women.
• People with low incomes that don’t qualify for state-based aid.
• Large families.
• People who feel that their employer coverage is insufficient for their family.

Is ACA only for low-income individuals?

ACA does offer assistance to Americans who are struggling financially, but many Americans are able to benefit from ACA. A four-member family with a household income of $104,000 is still eligible for a premium tax credit.

What does the American Rescue Plan mean for the future of the ACA?

The American Rescue Plan did two great things for ACA:
1. It made individuals and families eligible for a temporary increase in premium tax credits this year, with no one paying more than 8.5% of their household income towards the cost of the benchmark plan or a less expensive plan. Americans aging into a higher risk pool (ages 55 - 65) were getting charged higher premiums and receiving less assistance. This act provided this demographic a viable option to purchase affordable insurance that wouldn’t drop or deny them based on preexisting conditions.
2. This shows that the new administration sees the importance of the ACA and how it can be utilized to aid Americans and policy through tough times. This assured us it’s not going anywhere and opened the door to future improvements for Americans.

Do I need a certificate to write ACA?

Yes: the FFM certification. It’s a walk in the park compared to AHIP. Unlimited attempts, lower required score, FREE, and returning agents get the privilege of an abridged version that takes a maximum 15 minutes to renew

Do I have to write through Healthcare.gov?

Our agents typically use Healthsherpa or QuoteIt for ACA enrollments. They both have a back-end CRM to manage clients, comprehensive quotation, doctors, forms, networks, and benefits. Optimized application process through the use of EDE means you can write an app in as little as 5 minutes. ACA has never been easier!

If a premium is $0 a month then how do I get a commission?

ACA pays Per Member Per Month regardless of the premium.
Example:
- Commissions are $30 PMPM
- 5 member Family
- $0 premium plan
$30 x 5 members= $150 a month from one plan. That’s $1,800 a year off one policy.
The customer pays $0 for a major medical plan. That means that an accidental rider for only $20 a month just became very attractive and provides comprehensive gap coverage.
